Faith Erin Hicks’ new book InBetweens is not a memoir. She wants to be clear on that. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have memoir-ish aspects.

“It is based very, very loosely on my experience going to a high pressure animation college in Ontario,” says the Vancouver-based artist. “The characters are younger than I was. I decided to make them younger because I wanted there to be the tension of 'is this the path for me?'"
