THE GOOD DAUGHTER by Karin Slaughter - Kirkus '4 New Adaptations To Watch in November'

Kirkus | October 29, 2026

Nov. 12: The Good Daughter (series premiere, Peacock)

This new streaming series, based on the author’s Kirkus-starred 2017 novel, stars Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You) and Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus) as sisters who have a fraught relationship. When they were teenagers, they survived a traumatic home invasion by men looking for their attorney father, Rusty Quinn. A decade later, Charlie (Fahy) witnesses a school shooting, and her father (played by Brendan Gleeson) wants to defend the girl accused of the crime—with Sam (Byrne), who’s also a lawyer, possibly serving as second chair. The show boasts a stellar cast, and Slaughter herself serves as the series’ creator and co-writer.
